How to Leave an OnlyFans Agency Safely
Sometimes an agency just isn't the right fit. Maybe results stopped, trust broke down, or your goals changed. Whatever the reason, knowing how to leave an OnlyFans agency safely protects your account, your content, and your money.
This guide is for cis and trans women creators in the US and UK. We'll walk you through each step, in order.
This is general information, not legal advice. If your contract is complex or the agency is causing problems, talk to a lawyer where you live.
Step 1: Read your contract
Before you say anything, find your contract and read it. Look for:
- Notice period. How much warning you must give before leaving.
- Fees after you leave. Some contracts say the agency gets paid for a time after the deal ends.
- Content ownership. Who owns the photos, videos, and captions made during the deal.
- Non-compete. A rule that limits what you can do after leaving.
If you don't understand a clause, ask a professional. Our guide to OnlyFans agency contracts explains common terms.
Step 2: Make a list
Write down everything the agency can access. That may include:
- Your OnlyFans account
- Social media accounts
- Email accounts
- Shared folders and content tools
- Any chat or scheduling apps
Step 3: Save your records
Before you give notice, save copies of:
- Your contract and any changes
- Reports and earnings records
- Important messages with the agency
- Your content files, if you have the right to them
Also take note of your current numbers in your OnlyFans dashboard. This helps if there's ever a dispute about payments.
Step 4: Give notice in writing
Send a short, calm message by email or another written method. Say:
- You're ending the agreement
- The date it ends, based on your notice period
- What you need from them, like final reports
Keep it polite and simple. You don't owe a long explanation.
Step 5: Secure your accounts
On the day the agreement ends, or sooner if you feel unsafe:
- Change your passwords on every account on your list.
- Reset your 2FA (the extra login code) so only your phone or app gets codes.
- Log out other devices in your account settings, where the platform offers it.
- Check your payout details to make sure they're still yours.
- Remove agency access from shared folders and tools.
If the agency never had your password or 2FA, this step is much easier. That's why it's always smart to keep them yourself.
Step 6: Settle final payments
Check what you owe and what they owe, based on the contract. Compare their final numbers with your own dashboard. Ask questions about anything that doesn't match. Keep all of this in writing.
Step 7: Tell your fans, if you want
You don't have to explain anything to fans. But if someone else was chatting for you, fans may notice a change in style. A simple note like "I'm handling my own messages now" is enough.
If it goes badly
Most exits are calm. But if an agency threatens you, holds your account, or leaks your content:
- Don't argue. Keep everything in writing.
- Secure your accounts right away.
- Contact OnlyFans support about account problems.
- Get legal help if needed.
If your content is posted somewhere without your OK, read our DMCA takedown guide. For signs of a bad agency, see OnlyFans agency scams and red flags.
Notes for trans creators
If your agency knew private details, like your legal name or past photos, make a list of what they had. Ask in writing that they delete it. If you choose a new agency later, our guide on how trans women creators can vet an OnlyFans agency can help.
Starting fresh
Leaving an agency isn't a failure. It's you running your business. Take time to rest, review what worked, and decide what's next.
